Asked if I celebrate Juneteenth as a black woman

Them: “Hey Kwenela, do you celebrate Juneteenth?”.

Me: “No”

Them: “Why not?”

Me: “I don’t celebrate pagan holidays of the world because the world celebrates death and lies, I celebrate Life in Jesus who broke me free from the false identity of being called a “black woman” when I believed in Him”.

Them: “Oh there you go being so extreme with that “white maaaaaaan’s god/religion, but you think I’m the one in believing in lies?”

Me: “Well you sound like you’re obsessed with white man, black man identities (lies), but how can you believe God is a human? Are you saying you worship the white man as “god”? I ask because God is my Provider and He isn’t like a man. But you expect a “white” man to still provide you “30 acres and a mule” while thinking that the God who made you is owned by a white man or any man for that matter.

I love you “black people” that’s why I won’t stop coming with exposing the garbage of these sensationalized holidays. The moment you stop honoring and glorifying the color of your skin in pride the moment you can glorify the God that made you and truly be set free from bondage by believing in Jesus who died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

Keep believing these lies you will remain in bondage while thinking that you’re free while still celebrating bondage.
